Lighthouse Rescue Mission:
Loving Our Neighbors
In Paul’s letter to the believers in Galatia, the Lord says, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”(Galatians 6:2). One of the most prominent burdens that is apparent in our own community of Tucson, Arizona is poverty and homelessness. As of 2014, the Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness identified 2,110 people as homeless. While the number seems small, it doesn’t excuse us from doing our part to ease the burden of our beloved neighbors.
Lighthouse Rescue Hour
Thank you for visiting Lighthouse Rescue Mission. We are a Christ-based, non-profit organization that lends a helping hand to those less fortunate than ourselves: namely the homeless. The Lighthouse Rescue Mission takes action to help people by assisting them with immediate physical needs and then prayerfully providing them with Bible-based counsel and guidance.
You can join our Lighthouse Family Bible Study by tuning into our weekly webcast. For up-to-date information about the Lighthouse, make the Lighthouse Rescue Hour a part of your week.
How You Can Help
Our ministry to the poor and homeless needs helping hands in many ways. Your financial contributions, in addition to time, talents and food goes a long way as every penny is carefully accounted for. Your donation goes even further as this ministry is 100% volunteer staffed. No one draws a salary. We want to build Tiny Houses that folks can own and this takes money, land and talent. God has provided one land donor already. The building talent is waiting their marching orders. We seek more donated land in the Catalina, Arizona, area where we hope to build a pilot Tiny Homes village, a dormitory and a Lighthouse Chapel. All donations can qualify for a 501(3)(c) charitable deduction. The cost of a land transfer is fully absorbed by this ministry. We also are hoping for churches to permit a small house or two on their property just as this ministry’s sponsor church is planning to do. The greatest need now is funding.
